TypeScript 4.7 has finally hit its release candidate status. This means that it is now in its stable release. As always to install it you can use the following command:
npm install typescript@rc
The only notable change is that the stable target node version is now node16. What does this mean?
This should provide newer ES module functionality from Node.js (like pattern trailers) while also defaulting TypeScript to a higher
target
that supports top-levelawait
.

The team at Google released this video of many new features that are being released for the web. Definitely check it out as it mentions mainly features that are now cross-browser.
